SINGERS MAKING A DIFFERENCE
We began with a dream of forming a community chorus in 2009 which would perform concerts several times a year to raise money for charitable organizations.
Our first performance in the fall of 2009 was to raise money for the Susan G. Komen Foundation’s NE Ohio Affiliate, for breast cancer awareness. “Sing for the Cure, A Proclamation of Hope” touched our near capacity audience at Umstattd Hall and moved us as singers to excellence.
Because of that performance, we were invited to sing with 4 other choruses from around the country at Carnegie Hall, NYC, and perform the 10th Anniversary concert of “Sing for the Cure”. It was an unforgettable experience.
We feel privileged to continue singing to raise money for a variety of causes. We have sung to raise money for the American Heart Association, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Association, the local Domestic Violence Project, Inc., and the Special Olympics of Stark County organizations in addition to our original cause, Susan G Komen - totaling over $26,000 .
Our next concert on April 21st. 2012 is to support Camp Quality, an organization that provides services to children with cancer and support for their families.
