The Bed Brigade hosts periodic building events, typically held at a church in Greensburg. These events require volunteers to help construct the frames and transport pre-cut pieces. While the bed-building process is not overly technical, some familiarity with power tools or woodworking can be beneficial. However, for those who prefer not to use power tools, project leaders will ensure that mattresses are available on-site for volunteers to prepare for delivery. Additionally, volunteers are responsible for writing positive messages on cards and decorating end-boards.

Upon delivery, each bed package includes an XL twin bed, mattress cover, sheet set, pillow, and blanket. For many recipients, this is their first real bed. Imagine the joy and excitement on a child’s face who has never had a bed of their own.
